Day-trip 1 – Idrija, 30.7.

Join us on a journey to Idrija, a captivating Slovenian UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the world’s second-largest mercury mine and uncover the town’s fascinating past. Discover the delicate art of traditional lace-making, unique local dishes, and experience the ingenuity of its unique technical heritage. Along the way, take in the breathtaking landscapes of the Idrija countryside, and enjoy this perfect blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.

We’ll start the day with a warm welcome at the town square, taste a traditional snack with the live demonstration of lace-making, followed by a guided walk through the historic town center. Next, we’ll head underground for a fascinating tour of the mine shaft, part of the old mercury mine open to visitors.

After the tour, we’ll take a scenic drive to Idrijska Bela, for a delicious lunch featuring the famous local specialty Idrijski žlikrofi. We’ll then spend some time relaxing by the Idrijca river, which is also perfect for a swim. 

In the afternoon, we’ll continue to  a tiny village of Zadlog and wrap up our trip with a tasting of fresh, local dairy products at the charming local farm.

Price? 45€ per person (40€ for kids under 14)  – including parking, guided tours, lunch and food tasting

Journey lenght? 110 km, from 8.30 to 18.30.

Due to space constraints, we kindly ask for a maximum of two people per car, with exceptions for children up to 14 years old.
