Wall Print “Citroën 2CV – Slovenia 2025”

A new addition to our shop: a limited edition artwork by renowned designer Georg Gedl is now available.
His ideas and design achievements will also be showcased in a special exhibition at our meeting.

Georg Gedl was born in 1945 in Kikinda (Serbia) and already as a boy fell in love with cars and their design. Although he worked in construction at the beginning of his career he was keenly creating sketches and drawings of new car models. He sent his drawings to renowned automotive magazines, and in 1969 the Swiss magazine “Automobil Revue” decided to publish some of them .

In 1970 he became a car designer at Audi, and year latter at BMW. In 1975 he took on a new challenge as a caravan designer and thus joined the IMV (Motor Vehicle Industry) company in Novi Sad. From 1983 to 1987 he worked at TAM (Car Factory Maribor), where the designed a tourist bus, one of the major achievements of his career. The project was exhibited in 1984 at International Motor Show in Frankfurt and the International Biennial of Industrial Design in Ljubljana..

He was also a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts (Design Techniques, rendering) and journalist – he was an external contributor to the Slovenian magazine Avto magazin in the field of automotive design.

In 1987 he become a freelance industrial designer. His most significant projects include designing a Yugoslav high-speed train, redesigning Renault 4 vehicles, designing a Microstar minibus (Ernst Auwärter), a BULL-2 articulated loader and an electric tug for airports (Spijkstaal Elektro).

In 1994 he started working with Adria Mobil. His projects varied from interior design for trailers and motorhomes to designing exteriors and graphics. The first major project at Adria Mobil was the design of a brand new generation of trailers, an integrated Vision motorhome, which was first introduced by the company in 2005 at the largest European caravan trade fair in Düsseldorf.

His biggest hobbies are drawing old cars and collecting car miniatures. He has over a thousand pieces in his collection.
